We're getting married!

When Julia joined Hardbat Athletics in 2013, her goals were to build fitness and make friends. Never in her wildest dreams did she imagine that she'd meet her future husband there -- but she did! Derek and Julia shared an instant connection, and their friendship grew into love. After one year of pharmacy school, Julia moved in with Derek, and it became clear that they were meant to spend the rest of their lives together.

In 2019, Julia and Derek made their way to Hardbat's Annual Spring Gala. Julia was expecting a fun night out with her gym friends, but to her surprise, Derek got down on one knee infront of 100 people, including her family and friends, and asked her to be his wife.
