Kody walked into his family's hotel room, another night at Disney World under his belt. He flipped listlessly through his phone until a beautiful blonde with perfect blue eyes caught his attention in his notifications. Boredom quickly turned to excitement as the long-shot "DM" became a very real opportunity at meeting his possible future date... Korynn was settling into her night routine, picking up her bag of freshly popped Skinny Pop with her corgi, Elle Woods, cozying up beneath her feet on the couch. A subtle ping rang as a new message scrolled across her notifications. This Kody-guy was really starting to grow on her as they continued to chat. He seems sweet, maybe this could really be someone she could enjoy dating... Fast forward a week, and Kody is waiting in a cramped corner of the trendy Mercat Bistro located in the bustling Uptown district. He checks his phone a third time, trying to ignore his anxious anticipation to meet the girl who captured his attention for the past week and a half over text. He's drawn to the front of the restaurant as a confident and exuberant Korynn waves and approaches the table. An exchange of personal stories and shared interests leads to the longest first date they've both have ever had. Three weeks later the world stood still as the once-in-a-life-time epidemic became our new reality. Korynn waited patiently in her father's living room with uncertainty and excitement. Kody had driven the two hour drive to her former hometown to see her, where she had retreated to ride out the pandemic. She was rewarded at the door with a bouquet of yellow roses and a pint of cookie dough, a few of her favorite things. He even thought to bring a pack of Corona for her dad and an extra pint of cookie dough for her best friend who tagged along to meet this boy they had been gossiping about. This week was looking like a very bright spot in a very dark time. Fifteen months later Kody is helping Korynn carry in another box of her belongings. His townhome in the 'burbs' felt like a second home for Korynn at this point. Life was moving quickly and living together felt like another exciting adventure they were both ready to jump into. Kody took notice of the big and little changes Korynn was adding to the townhome. This was quickly becoming a true home for both of them. July 3rd, 2022, to Korynn it was just another day before 4th of July celebrations. Korynn sat perplexed in the backseat of a minivan. She wondered why Kody was acting so strange on this vacation to Martha's Vineyard. Her family was acting weird as well but she chose to embrace the day and enjoy the beach detour they had chosen. Walking along the island beach, she is not sure what she sees at the end. Kody stands in a heart of sunflowers waiting with all of her family and loved-ones watching. It dawns on Korynn that this is it, this is the day they're going to choose to spend a lifetime together. One thousand, three hundred thirty-seven days later.
