Koby and Brooke met in the Honors College at Indiana Wesleyan University. Although Brooke says she remembers meeting Koby at one of the interview days, he has no recollection of the event. They started dating sophomore year after Koby asked her to breakfast with the intention of asking her out. He never actually asked her out, but she understood his goal and they began dating.

Koby and Brooke went to Germany over winter break for the Kuhn-Stemple wedding, where Brooke was a bridesmaid. After the wedding, they hit up their "bucket list" countries - the Netherlands and Italy! The travel was a whirlwind - 8 flights, 5 countries, and 3 AirBnBs in 11 days! While they were in Amsterdam one night, walking back to their room, Brooke stopped to take a picture on the canals. Koby chose that moment to propose! It was short and sweet, and Brooke doesn't remember any of it because she was so excited!
