How We Met

We both swiped right.

I know, I know. We both know what you're thinking. Tinder? Really? Yes, really, we know. But hear us out. Kat and Michael had just gotten out of relationships and both decided to use Tinder for its intended use. Let's just say, its not meant for dating and relationships. They agreed to meet in person for a date. Michael drove to Kat's apartment on his motorcycle, and as Kat saw him ride up, she swooned. She's always had a thing for the "bad boy aesthetic". She admits its a problem. So once Michael arrived, they exchanged typical awkward small talk before heading to a local Steak n' Shake for dinner, in Kat's car, don't worry. They immediately hit it off, talking about everything from nerdy interests to their love of different music. It wasn't long until they stayed up past 6am singing pop-punk and old school country songs together on the porch.

Making It Official

Oh yeah, I will rock your world, 'cause I'm a dragon slayer, girl

After a month or so of dating-but-not-putting-a-label-on-it, they went to a Ninja Sex Party concert. Michael asked if he could ask her out through the band during the Q&A session, as she's not too fond of big surprises like that. Michael started by saying how he'd been seeing this girl, Kat, for a few weeks and he'd like some help from the band members asking her out. The whole audience let out a chorus of "Awwwwww!". So Danny Sexbang and Ninja Brian turned to Kat and asked, "Do you wanna go out with that guy?". Kat nodded. The audience applauded and Danny and Brian said their congrats! It was pretty friggin' awesome. Here's a video of Michael asking Kat out! youtu.be/x7SuZFzZIPk

The Proposal

What was planned vs. what actually happened

It was no surprise that we were getting married. We were pretty much planning the wedding somewhat-secretly for months before Michael proposed. But Kat didn't want to know how or when he would officially propose. Some things need to remain a surprise, right? Michael's family and Kat were enjoying the evening at home. Not even 5 minutes before taking some family photos, Michael's mom helped him pick out a placeholder ring (until he got the ring Kat pined for). After Michael set the self-timer on his phone's camera, he spun around in front of Kat, got on one knee, and opened the ring. Michael was so lost in the moment, no words came out for a solid 10 seconds until Kat, who kept saying "oh my god" over and over, Kat finally let out a "....well?" Michael, Michael replied, "Well, what? I think its pretty obvious!" Still stunned, Kat said, "Well yeah but its tradition!" Michael then officially asked Kat the big question, and of course, she said yes!!
