Question

When should I travel into town?

Answer

If your travel is flexible, we recommend adding extra time before (versus after) the wedding in the event of travel delays or inclement weather.

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

If you are staying at the hotel and planning to stick around the downtown area, a rental car is not necessary. From the Cincinnati airport (CVG) to Downtown Cinci (CBD) it is about a $25-35 Uber/Lyft depending on what time you're traveling. There is plenty to see, eat, and do in CBD/Over-the-Rhine(OTR)! If you are staying at the hotel, you can get around on the free streetcar, Redbikes, Bird/Lime scooters, and Uber/Lyft. For the wedding, we will have a shuttle available for guests, to the venue and back at the end of the night.

Question

What will the weather be like?

Answer

Great question! Catherine is a bit of a weather nerd and before deciding on this date, looked at average temperatures over the past 4 years for this time of year before committing to the date and the verdict is...November in Cincinnati is particularly fickle so we recommend being prepared with options. Based on the analysis, generally the weather will be 60s-mid 70s during the day, down to mid 40s-50s at night. However, if the pattern of the past 4 years holds true, the daily high on about November 12th drops to 45F - BRR! It is highly unlikely that there will be snow/ice at this time, but rain is a possibility. That said, on our wedding day, we will have heated transportation for hotel guests to and from the venue, the reception is also covered and heated, and the ceremony will only be outside if the weather is nice enough. We also recommend sunglasses as the ceremony is right around sunset.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We're letting our personalities shine at our wedding and we encourage you to do the same. Keep it classy but have some fun with your look! That said, if you would like some guidance on what to wear, we encourage men to wear a suit and tie and for women to wear a knee- to floor-length dress or nice pantsuit. Please note, we are planning for our ceremony to be outside and cocktail hour to be inside/outside, weather permitting. The reception will be inside. Please check the weather before attending and bring appropriate cover ups for temperatures in the 60s-70s, dropping to 50s as the night goes on. Additionally, if the ceremony is outside, it will be on the lawn, so please plan your footwear with this in mind.

Question

What shoes should I wear?

Answer

The ceremony will be on the lawn, so please plan your footwear with this in mind. More importantly, we want to see everyone out on the dance floor so we encourage a change of footwear if that will help you get out there. We don't want Catherine's mom showing up everyone so bring your sense of fun and moves. No one is allowed to feel embarrassed – we’re all in this together!

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Unfortunately, no. We would invite the world if we could, but unfortunately due to budget restrictions, we are only able to extend the invite to children of close family only. Please let us know if you would like contact information for babysitters in the area. We understand this won’t work for everyone, so please know that we respect your RSVP decision either way!

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP by October 7th. We invite you to RSVP online here (see RSVP tab at the top of the page) or by mailing in the RSVP card sent with the invitation.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

Yes! A shuttle will be available for hotel guests starting at 4:00pm to the wedding venue. The last pick up for the ceremony will occur at 4:30pm. The shuttle will resume at 8:30pm and will continue until 11:15am. Guests can expect the hotel and venue pick up and drop off locations to remain the same through the night.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

Yes! There is ample parking at the venue. It is just down a small hill, about a 2-5 minute walk depending on your speed of walking and which end of the parking lot you are located. Guests may be dropped off at the entrance first if needed.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30pm. Please arrive in time to park (if driving), walk a short distance to the house, and get settled.

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

You can find our registry through the Registry tab at the top of this page, on our website. We are interested in items from several different locations so do not have a formal registry with any one store besides the one you can find through our website here.

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

There is a brunch Saturday morning (11/11) from 9:30-11:00am at the hotel, the Hilton Netherland Plaza. All guests are invited to join for a last chance to see the bride and groom.
