Will transportation be provided?

Answer

Transportation will not be provided to wedding guests. Uber and Lyft are widely available and can be pre-scheduled. We recommend using pre-scheduled Uber/Lyft options or a private car service to avoid wait times. If wedding guests are looking for a private car service, we recommend using RMA. Please find their website here: https://www.rmalimo.com/. Of note, the wedding ceremony will be at Christ Church in Old Town, Virginia and the wedding reception will be at Dumbarton House in Georgetown, DC. Guests will need to arrange transportation to the ceremony and the reception. The travel time between Old Town and Georgetown is roughly 20 minutes and will provide a beautiful view of the national monuments and Potomac River.

Yes! Uber and Lyft are readily available in both Old Town and Georgetown, DC. We recommend scheduling your rideshare ahead of time to avoid wait times.

Can I drive to the wedding and reception?

Yes! You're able to drive to the wedding ceremony and reception. Street parking is available but can be limited in Old Town and Georgetown, so we advise leaving enough room to account for parking.

What is the dress code?

Answer

Black Tie. So, what does that mean? Tuxedos for men and floor-length formal dresses for women. Women are encouraged to wear stacked heels to ensure a comfortable experience as there are cobblestones throughout Old Town and Georgetown. Additionally, Christ Church, is a historic colonial church and the pews are narrow. Dress volume should account for narrow pew space. For planning purposes, the wedding reception cocktail hour will be outside, and the dinner will be tented in a stone courtyard.
