This wedding was fantastic. We (Kinsey and Travis) both agree it was the best wedding of all time. :)
Hey everyone! We are close to the wedding day. Hope everyone is as excited as we are. A reminder about the address. The wedding event will be at the Blue Ridge Kitchen event space here: 6770 McKinley St Ste 150 Sebastopol, CA 95472 On Saturday 10/1, the day of the wedding, please arrive between 4-4:25pm. A shuttle will be picking up guests from the Fairfield Inn & Suites in Sebastopol starting at 3:45pm. They will come back and forth from the event space and the hotel. Kinsey and Travis will be hanging out on Friday at 1:00pm to see people and eat. All are invited, but this is not an official event. This will be at the Crooked Goat in Sebastopol. We will likely migrate after lunch to drinks in the area. Kinsey and Travis will be leaving around 3pm to get ready for the rehearsal. The rehearsal & rehearsal dinner are by invite only (small capacity restaurant). After the rehearsal dinner is done (likely around 8:30-9), we will head over to Perch + Plow in downtown Santa Rosa for anyone who wants to join us to hang out and grab some more drinks. We hope to see you all there!
About 2 months into dating, we attended a raucous 2020 New Year's party at the Museum of Pop Culture in Seattle. We went into the night knowing we liked each other, but came out knowing that what we had was the real deal. Over the course of the evening, we were able to confide, revealing our true selves while keeping the moment light and fun amidst the party. We learned that our outlook on life, our core values, resonated within the other.
Anyone that knows Kinsey and Travis knows they love to have fun. That's why when the world closed at the onset of COVID, Travis and Kinsey found a silver lining and took a big leap by flying to Barbados for 3 weeks. On the island they were protected from the woes of the world. We paddleboarded to beaches with sea turtles, met interesting people (who were admittedly a little nuts like us), and basked in the island lifestyle.
Travis was feeling the pressure to propose and make an honest woman out of Kinsey. He reached out to all his friends and family for ideas, but none of them seemed to speak to the Travis-Kinsey ethos. He thought, "What would matter to us?" Eventually, Travis knew to propose doing something they enjoyed, a walk around Greenlake. It's picturesque and beautiful and importantly, meaningful. Travis waited for the weather to clear and sun to set. He rallied the troops into positions in the bushes and as he rounded the corner, got down on one knee and proposed. Everyone joined us in celebration and we went back to our place to toast with champagne.
