How we met

March 18, 2020 - Kinley's Point of View

It was my spring semester of sophomore year in college, and my friend Cade asked if I wanted to go hang out at some of our other friends’ house. I said “yes,” and he asked if it was okay if he and another friend (some guy named Parker) picked my friends and I up. The next thing I know, I’m hopping in the back seat of this new guy named Parker’s Xterra. I remember being pleasantly surprised about how cute he was. So the night goes on with very little interaction between Parker and me, but then we finally get to talking in the parking lot, and I find out that he’s really funny, and already not afraid of picking on me. Over the next few days we started snap chatting, and we decided to hang out. He came over to my apartment, and we watched bloopers of TV shows and laughed and talked for hours. I remember thinking it felt like I had known him my entire life. The next morning I told my mom about him, and I distinctly remember saying “Mama, I think I could marry this guy!” I am so glad I was right.

How we met

March 18, 2020 - Parker's Point of View

I met Kinley in March of 2020 right at the start of Covid-19. I believe the day was Wednesday, March 18th. Earlier that day, my friend Cade asked me if I wanted to go to the house of one of his friends. Later on, he asked me if it was cool if we picked up a girl named Kinley and a couple of her friends. When we picked them up, I saw this beautiful girl, Kinley, get into the back of my car with her friends, and I got so nervous. So, I tried to play it cool. I sat across from her most of the time at the house, and I would slip in a flirty comment here and there. Later on, Cade asked me, Kinley, her friends, and a couple other people if we wanted to see this cool new guitar that he had gotten. We went out to the car, and me and kinley eventually started to talk to each other. I said some stupid joke, and she grabbed my arm while laughing. I thought to myself, "Woah! she just grabbed my arm! She likes me!" Her grabbing my arm and laughing at my joke was a real confidence booster for me too. Not much else happened that night, but we hung out again a couple of nights later. The next time we hung out it was just us, and it was amazing. We watched bloopers of the office, laughed, and talked for hours. There was no sense of awkwardness or discomfort, but it was like we had known each other for years. As I spent more time with her and got to know her better, I fell deeply in love with her, and I realized that Kinley is the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with.
