Alexandra and Ryan both attended Valor Christian Highschool and in a class of 189 everyone knew everyone…or so they thought. They officially met during a night out with friends between their Sophomore and Junior years. As their night was coming to a close Alexandra began to ask Ryan some questions. Question 1: Where do you go to school? Answer 1: Valor... Question 2: What grade are you in? Answer 2: Your grade... Question 3: Did you transfer? Answer 3: No... Rough start as Ryan began to realize she had no idea who he was. Alexandra realized he was familiar, but for what? Suddenly it came to her; "You had the rolly backpack”! So from this string of events and a rolly backpack, their life together began. They continued their adventures at the University of Colorado Boulder, without the rolly backpack. As their love for each other grew through the years, one question was inevitable. “Will you marry me?” With their family, friends, and dog, Myla, Ryan & Zanny have the world ahead of them, and each other to explore it with.
Since Alexandra and Ryan had been dating for nearly 8 years, Alexandra was expecting a proposal at any time so Ryan had to get creative. With the help of family and friends, Ryan planned out an amazing proposal. The night before the actual proposal, Ryan planned a fancy dinner and date night for two. Everyone in the know thought Alexandra may kill Ryan after not proposing that night but to their surprise, she returned with a smile on her face. Ryan had planned the engagement to be in downtown Denver so his excuse to be dressed up and in Denver on a Saturday morning was to get brunch with his coworkers. Alexandra woke up that Saturday morning and asked "Do I even need to shower for this?" to which the reply was a quick "YES!". As they were walking to brunch, Ryan took a detour to the Daniels and Fisher Clocktower where they took an elevator to the top. Awaiting them was a candle-lit, rose-petal-lined path leading them to a table for two with champagne and chocolates while their song played in the background. Ryan gave his speech and got down on one knee to ask the question! Obviously, she said yes! Ryan then surprised her with tickets to the Avalanche game that was starting soon after. They drove to Ball Arena and walked to their seats. Ryan walked up to a suite door and unlocked it, revealing family and friends all there to surprise Alexandra (video in gallery). The Avs ended up winning, and Alexandra and Ryan continued their day celebrating in Denver after the game.
