It all started through mutual friends. We first "met" at a dog park but were both too shy and awkward to actually talk to each other. After that day we began texting and eventually hung out and actually talked to each other. On March 11, 2017 Xavier made it official by asking Kimmy to be his girl friend.
We started dating the end of Kimmy's freshman year and Xavier sophomore year. During those years we not only grew together but grew as individuals. From learning how to drive, getting our first jobs and everything in between up until graduation. Xavier graduated in 2019 and Kimmy in 2020. While Kimmy continued her high school journey Xavier started working towards a career.
After graduation Xavier worked as a plumber while Kimmy went to college and worked as an X-Ray technician at an orthodontic office. During this time Xavier was living with Kimmy and her family while they planned their move to Arizona. Xavier knew exactly what Kimmy wanted with a proposal as she had talked about it before. He planned the perfect proposal. He asked her mother and grandparents for permission as that was very important to her. He planned a weekend away to Grand Coulee with her grandparents. She thought they were just going to help move furniture and hang out. With the help of Lindsay and her family he was able to convince her to bring a cute outfit and "take pictures on the beach". Being oblivious Kimmy thought he was planning a date since this would be there last trip to Grand Coulee before they moved to AZ. He had been hiding the ring from Kimmy in plain sight in a backpack in her bedroom. The ring is the same ring his dad had proposed to his mom with so it was a special ring, at a special place for a very special event. Kimmy had made it very clear that she wanted photos to be taken of the special moment and she DID NOT want to be proposed to on the beach but as many people know the beach in Grand Coulee is Kimmy's favorite place to spend the summer and her all time favorite place in Washington. While she got ready for what she thought was a date, Xavier snuck down to the beach to set his phone up to record the moment. He knew it would be incredibly hard to get a photographer to the small town and onto the beach without Kimmy noticing so he set up the phone. It was a freezing November day and Kimmy headed down to the beach ready to take pictures when Xavier met her at the car walked her down and asked her the big question. With her grandparents watching from the deck and her mom on the phone on the way to celebrate with them. Of course she said YES! The moment couldn't have been more special.
A month after the proposal we packed up and moved out of Washington to Gilbert AZ. Together with our cat Simon made the long 3 day trek. We spent just about a year living in Arizona before deciding it wasn't the best fit for us. We made many life long friends and a million memories before heading back to Washington state. Since moving back we have adopted a crazy German Shepard puppy named Dexter. Xavier has continued his work as a plumber. Kimmy is working towards her degree and is set to graduate in January 2024. She has been planning the wedding making multiple trips to Idaho to make sure the day is perfect. We can't wait until we are able to tie the knot and get to start another big chapter of our lives together!
