We were the couple no one ever expected. We knew each other, through mutual friends. Luke was the punk kid, Kim was a high school jock. We were friends. The true friendship started in college - from group hangouts in the cafeteria, to study groups in the library, to the good ole ECU parties, to walking to class together, to making sushi. But our lives were completely different - being in a relationship never crossed our minds. We were too different. He left ECU, and we grew apart. Through the years, we kept in touch when possible. He would come to Greenville to hang out with Kim and the guys. We would run into each other back on the outer banks. Then one night, the summer after Kim graduated college and was figuring out life, and Luke was just living life, enjoying it. A mutual friends birthday night out, led to the beginning of Kim and Luke. We sat at the bar and talked all night - realized that we weren’t all that different. From there we caught up, we got close, and the rest is history. We fell in love. Through family drama, personal drama, and figuring out ourselves and our relationship - we became strong and the couple no one ever expected.
