It's Finally Happening!

Maggie and Jared met through a mutual friend during their freshman year of high school and immediately liked each other. They started texting every day, but being so young, they were too nervous to hang out in person. Maggie would frantically fix her hair and makeup preparing to pass him in the halls, and Jared would purposely take a longer route to class and baseball practice to avoid running into her unexpectedly. They eventually stopped texting thinking a relationship wouldn’t work, but after a few months, their feelings were still there. The summer before their sophomore year, the two reconnected as if no time had passed. After overcoming the nerves and with words of encouragement from friends, Jared officially asked Maggie to be his girlfriend on November 7th, 2012. They have been happy and in love for over a decade.

Getting engaged has been a topic of conversation for years, so Jared knew he had to work extra hard to make the proposal a surprise. Despite a few suspicions and with the help of both their parents, Maggie was planning a surprise birthday party for Jared, when she was actually organizing her own proposal. After a dinner date where he was too nervous to eat and she was too oblivious to notice, they walked into a room full of their family and friends when Jared got down on one knee and popped the question.
