With a little bit of luck and a lot of God's grace, we ended up on the same Mexican beach, in the same 5 minute window. We're not sure if it was Erika's coffee-stained, backwards sweatshirt or Justin's sun screened nose, bucket hat and sunglasses combo (only allowing a view of the mustache) that did the trick, but something clicked during that time. A few days later, we met up for dinner at the diviest burger joint we could find, and from that night on it was history.
It was 4:15 am when Justin knocked on Erika's door to go for a "sunrise hike." Erika was less than thrilled to be going that early, especially with a bleak forecast. Justin had been prepping for that moment for a while and had so much hope that the sun would burn away the clouds. We made it to the top and the weather was as expected - rainy and cold... Justin said some words neither of us remember, besides "Will you marry me?" and Erika said yes! Who needs a sunrise anyway?
Planning a wedding is hard... and planning a wedding in a pandemic is near impossible. Once we realized the event would not be able to go on as planned, we unfortunately decided to forgo the big event and take control of the uncertainty by having a private wedding ceremony with our immediate family and wedding party. We truly are sorry for any inconveniences that this may have caused to our guests, but want to make sure everyone stays safe!
