While the lavender may not be blooming in late- April, there is still plenty to admire and enjoy at Wanaka Lavender Farm. The leaves of the trees will start to change and bring an amazing array of colours to Wānaka Lavender Farm and its views. Once you've walked the grounds, you can enjoy the tearoom and farm shop.

Roy's Peak is a difficult but breathtaking 16km return hike near Wanaka, offering panoramic views of Lake Wanaka and the surrounding Southern Alps. The track climbs 1,258 meters through tussock grasslands to the summit, where you'll be treated to one of New Zealand's most iconic photo sites.
The track starts from the west end of Roys Bay, and soon reaches Wānaka Station Park, a beautiful picnic area, on the left. The track then winds along the lakes western shores for superb views and a great photo opportunity at the famous “Wānaka Tree”. The trail then passes Edgewater and Rippon Vineyard (the wedding venue) – where a cellar door and wine tastings are available – and on to Waterfall Creek with views of Ruby Island. Extend your walk or bike ride and continue on towards Glendhu Bay on the Glendhu Bay Track. Start: Roys Beach, western end Time: 1 hour Distance: 2.5 km Grade: Easy, stroller friendly. One of Wānaka's most popular short walks provides spectacular 360 degree panoramic views. Time: 1.5 hours Distance: 4.5 km Grade: Steep in places both up and downhill
Spectacular scenery and popular with walkers and bikers, the track follows the Clutha River/Mata-Au from its start/finishes at the Lake Wānaka Outlet Road and Hikuwai Reserve in Albert Town. This stretch of the river is world-renowned for its trout fishing. Bikers must ride with care, give way to walkers and if possible use the Hikuwai Track above at busy times.
