Parking near the ceremony and reception site is limited, so we ask all of our able bodied guests to utilize the Independence Mine public parking lots. They are managed by the State of Alaska and there is a $5 (cash) parking fee. For our guests who wish to camp within Hatcher Pass in an RV, the Gold Mint Trailhead is a popular spot.
Our ceremony and reception are outside on a mountain so please dress for the weather. We will be dressed formally, but we want our guests to be comfortable. If a full suit isn't for you, that's okay!
Sure thing! We just ask that they are chaperoned since we will be in a very open venue and we don't want anything to happen to them or another guest. Also, because of the location, there is limited cell phone reception and incredibly limited power (we will be running the wedding off of a generator). Afraid they will be too antsy during the ceremony? It is totally okay if you want to attend our reception only.

Our venue is in the heart of Hatcher Pass and is fairly remote, but there are a few options nearby. There are areas to park an RV within the state park. Hatcher Pass Lodge https://www.hatcherpasslodge.com Hatcher Pass Bed and Breakfast http://hatcherpassbb.com Hatcher Pass State Park: http://dnr.alaska.gov/parks/units/hatcherpass/hatcherpass.htm There are a few hotels in Wasilla, like the Grandview and the Best Western, but there are also quite a few AirBnB and VRBO options as well.
Yes! There will be porta-potties on site.
Take Palmer Fishhook into Hatcher Pass and continue up the Hatcher Pass road up and into the mountains toward the Historic Independence Mine. There will be red cabins (Hatcher Pass Lodge) on your right and a large parking lot as you get close. Continue up the road past the forestry booth. The road will curve sharply to the left, but follow the dirt road in front of you and head towards the large white tents at the base of the mountain.
