"This is a family affair, this is a family affair" We are totally down for having your young ones show up for the party. As you can tell by some of the "Things To Do" suggestions, there are plenty of kid friendly activities (...and we won't judge you if you really want to go to the petting zoo by yourself, but we might judge you if you try to steal a small child for cover). Please do let us know if you're considering bringing kids as we're going to plan for a babysitter during the ceremony/reception and will need your input to arrange this. If you have an older kid, please contact us. Our accommodations are limited, so we'd need to figure this out! "This is a family affair, this is a family affair"
So for those of you who don't know, I'm 34 (soon to be 35 eeek! I partially blame the pandemic on this one!). I'm pretty sure I took it as a personal attack on single people everywhere if I was invited to a wedding without a plus one. Let me also say, I've gone to the majority of weddings solo by choice. Okay okay, not by choice exactly but you know what I mean. For all my single ladies (and men) you are most certainly invited with a plus one. This should be a fun, communal party and if you come solo, you will most certainly be welcomed by everyone. If you don't have a romantic partner to bring, we totally support you bringing whoever you want as a plus one (family, friend, etc) on your vacation to help travel and cut accommodation costs! Just make sure your person can hang.
Check out the "Travel" tab for weather and the "Things To Do" tab for activities you'd want to pack for. If we've reserved a VRBO or a Fish Camp for you, rest assured we will store frozen breakfast casseroles made by the hotel in your freezer. But as you'll be physically located up to 1mi outside of the hotel, it might be nice for you to have snacks or drinks to bring as there won't exactly be room service. We'd also LOVE for you to bring card games, board games, outdoor games, musical instruments, yoga mats, ya know, collapsable golf clubs, floatation devices, sparklers, etc. If you have a pet you cannot live without, we completely understand and we can set you up in the Fish Camp Cabins that allow animals. ...Good thing too! Because, I mean, where else would we stick Kevin's friends? Just teasing guys. Love ya.
Unfortunately, you'll have to rent a car from the airport. But! We do plan to have shuttles scheduled for guests to be picked up and dropped off from the Friday night dinner and the Saturday wedding & reception ... so once you make it up here you can kick up your feet! See the travel page for more information on the shuttle service company and their contact information.
Kevin is calling it Mountain Chic. Ya know, nice but not ballroom style. If you're most comfortable in slacks and a blazer (or is it called a sports coat?), nice dark jeans and a classy vest, "cute" dress with chunky sandals or a hip jumpsuit - so be it. You might want to rethink wearing stilettos unless you're some kind of ninja. Be comfortable and be yourself. Be mindful of packing some active clothing/footwear for any activities you're interested in exploring. See the Travel section page.
Gosh you're so thoughtful. We're working on sending folks information on where they'll be staying and how to pay for their reservations. Thank you for your patience with this unusual process.
Please call the hotel directly to arrange any date outside of the range included in the RSVP events.
It's a super nice and quaint area but the reception isn't the greatest. My verizon was totally fine but I can't speak for other mobile carriers. So if you need to print directions or phone numbers, it's not a terrible idea. As the retired girl scout in me says "be prepared." When we say “Fish Camps” we mean beautiful cabins that are like townhouses perfectly situated on a mountainside campground. Check em out on the hotel website. On other news, we're beyond happy that the hotel doesn't have TVs, but DOES have not one, but two pianos!
