Best Man
Time knowing the groom: Since 2008. I was required to check on him at the fraternity to make sure he was alive after not leaving his room for a suspiciously long amount of time. Why he’s in the party: Lived in the same domain as me for 4+ years, so one could say I know him pretty well. We play golf together. He was also in charge of planning spring break trips, which will be useful for the bachelor party.
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Roughly since 1995. My memory as a kid stunk, so I can’t remember exactly. Why he’s in the party: I’m usually pro-“no johns allowed”, but this one will stay. My longest tenured friend and I have done a lot together. Grade school, high school, trips, wizards’ staff, how he’s a big baby, and agreeing that Notre Dame stinks and cheats. The important stuff.
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Since 2004 but was probably closer to 2003. I know the Dierkes Award caught his attention in Pony league baseball. Why he’s in the party: We both love all things Chicago sports, beer, coffee, video games, skating, the list goes on. Jon and I played high school sports together and continue to send each other Instagram memes.
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Since 1999, but probably earlier. He introduced me to Nintendo and Halo, which is very important. Why he’s in the party: He gave me his Gamecube a while back and continues to be my hookup for barrel aged beers, and I needed to repay him. Something is wrong with him though; he is a Green Bay Packer fan. I was lucky enough to be in his wedding party.
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Since 2008. A can’t miss person and personality. I think Paul has more best friends than anyone else I know. Why he’s in the party: He’s the celebrity of my friends. I fed off his house points for a nicer room at the fraternity and needed to pay him back somehow. Also, his wife introduced me to Allie. I was lucky enough to be in his wedding party.
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Since 2014. One of the first friends of Allie that she introduced me to. Why he’s in the party: He houses me in West Lafayette, loves Hawaii, and I was lucky enough to be a part of his wedding celebration. Charisma that fills the room.
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Since 2008. He was in the fraternity when I joined. Why he’s in the party: My back hurts from carrying this scrub on Xbox live. Lived together in the fraternity, and we go to New Orleans frequently to feel awful for fun. If you have a medical issue, he enjoys hearing about it.
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Since 2008. He was in the fraternity when I joined. Why he’s in the party: A staple of the hang out crew while I lived in Chicago and allowed me a free stay for multiple days on his couch. I lived with him in the fraternity (big sleep talker). Co-inventor of the pizza ‘sammich and helped baptize Hopsmith. I was lucky enough to be in his wedding party.
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Since 2008. Same pledge class at Phi Psi. Why he’s in the party: Chase down blocks, ‘preciating, tchopitoulas, all things Purdue sports, kfbr392, day 1 Croom truther, marveling at a baboon controlling traffic. Just a lot to enjoy about a person here. We go on trips together. But mostly because of onions!
Groomsman
Time knowing the groom: Since 2004. Freshman year in high school at the first swimming practice. Why he’s in the party: Spent a lot of time with George in high school – walking to 7-11 in freezing temps, skipping swim practice to play GOW, rounds, wood rounds, pentathlon, and just general illicit activity. We purchased and fixed a vending machine (RIP Mach V) so we could have ice cold sodey pops while playing darts. We still debate on who has the fastest 100-yd breaststroke time (your lane was hand-timed with a stop watch to the tenth of a second, it was unfair).
