Here's how you may want to consider the below exclusive guest amenities that direct booking offers that are not likely available with other bookings: - free shuttle transportation throughout the island (i.e. your villa/home, dining, pools, golf courses, beaches, Mingo Point where ceremony/reception will take place). This is a more relevant perk for guests staying on the resort without a rental car. - priority reservations and discounts at on-island golf courses, tennis courts, dining, and bike rentals. This is more important for guests looking to indulge in many of the activities at the resort. - 2 resort pools- Night Heron & West Beach (The Sanctuary pool only available to Sanctuary guests). These pools are great for those bringing children (see resort website). Villas and homes that you book through other websites will typically indicate if a neighborhood pool is accessible, which may meet your adult pool needs.
This really depends on how long you are staying, if you booked through the resort to have access to the free shuttle on the property, and where you stay on or off the resort (or how far you are willing to bike or walk to dining). Uber/Lyft maybe easier to get from the airport to the island, than it will be returning from the island to the airport. We recommend reserving a ride ahead of time to take you back to the airport, or coordinating with other guests who may have a car or rental.
It's not that we don't love your kids, BUT there will be an open bar and a microphone. There are just some things your kids don't need to see or hear. Your presence on our special day is important to us and we would love to make sure that you can be fully present with us. The island keeps a reputable and up to date babysitter list if you are interested in travelling with your children and arranging childcare for them the night of the wedding. You can contact member services for the most updated list via email at memberservices@kiawah.com or via phone at 843.768.6120.
