The Philadelphia Museum of Art is iconic - but it's also massive. The Barnes is another incredible art museum on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway that takes far less time to get through/appreciate. It has an amazing collection of impressionist and modern pieces!
The Mütter is one of our favorite museums in the city! Definitely not for those with a weak stomach - but if you're down to look at a lot of bones and organs it is a cool, unique Philadelphia experience.
The Schuylkill River Trail runs along the east side of the Schuylkill River and up through Fairmount Park. It is absolutely gorgeous in the spring and fall. You can also head from there to the Art Museum/Benjamin Franklin Parkway if you want to explore that area (or make a run up the "Rocky steps").
Rittenhouse Square is a gorgeous park in the middle of the city with plenty of places to sit and relax. The surrounding neighborhood is full of amazing restaurants, bars, and shops. There is also a farmer's market every Saturday morning.
Philly's Chinatown is full of wonderful, authentic restaurants and shops. Some of our favorites are Terakawa Ramen, Ocean Harbor dim sum, and A La Mousse for desserts.
Reading Terminal is a massive indoor market that provides an opportunity to try a ton of amazing food, drinks, and treats under one roof.
Our Philly friends know that we are practically obsessed with this restaurant. We love the devilled eggs, tandori chicken, and rabbit pie - but they also have a great burger!
One of our favorite lesser-known brunch spots. Vietnamese-American fusion - the ‘Sang Som’mer rolls and the sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich in particular are bomb.
Our favorite restaurant/bar from our old neighborhood - we went here the night we got engaged! Awesome food, great cocktails, killer happy hour.
Our go-to sushi spot - the fish is ridiculously fresh and we've never had a roll here we didn't like. BYOB as well!
Excellent sandwich shop. One of the best cheesesteaks we've had, but every other sandwich we've tried has been top knotch as well.
This one is for the beer lovers! They have an insane beer list here full of drafts and bottles you would never really see anywhere else. Food is also great - especially the mussels.
Do you want to enjoy excellent cocktails while lounging in what feels like someone's fancy-but-still-cozy living room? 1 Tippling is your spot.
A Philly dive bar institution - order a citywide (PBR + shot of bourbon). Cash only. P.S. Check out Dirty Frank's across Broad on 13th St for another classic dive bar.
They only do one thing and they do it perfectly. Top tier hangover cure!
