Maid of Honor
Alexis has been one of my best friends for over 12 years! We became quick friends when we lived in the same building at Simon Fraser University. Even though we live about a hour away from each other, she is always down to hang out or go on a girls weekend trip! Alexis is a teacher by day & a dancing queen by night - you will definitely see her taking over the dance floor during the reception! If you see her at the wedding, conversation topics could include: her love for teaching (school and dance), her background in ballet (she went to Pacific Dance Arts!), and winter ski trips to Whistler.
Best Man
Brendan and I became friends in Grade 5 when a random desk arrangement placed us beside each other. This arrangement did not last long as we ended up distracting the entire class! Our hijinks and friendship did not stop there with highlights being high school band mates, travel buddies, and roommates. Brendan even got me my first job in the steel industry. I am enormously grateful to have Brendan in my life and am especially grateful for his support as I marry Kerry. If you see him at the wedding, conversation topics could include: snakes, his communications master’s thesis, and his love of scuba diving (he's dived all over the world!).
Maid of Honor
Alex and I have been friends for over 12 years and also met at Simon Fraser University (we had the best building!). You can find Alex on the slopes from winter to spring. I'm so glad she is one of my besties despite my inability to keep up with her! She works for a security company with direct access to gun-slinging guards so don't mess with her! If you see her at the wedding, conversation topics could include: backcountry skiing..spring skiing..normal skiing...pretty much anything about skiing, her adorable dog Simon and how she's a boss babe running her own marketing company (Ignite Business Solutions).
Groomsman
Thomas is my oldest friend. As I was just a baby when he was born, we learned to talk, walk, read, and ride bikes together. Tom has a great propensity and talent for music. Growing up we would drive the whole neighborhood crazy when jamming on our electric guitars and drum kits. Tom married his wife Crystal in 2018 and I look up to my brother as an example of married life. If you see him at the wedding, conversation topics could include: his live music experience, his ability to play many instruments, and the scar he has below his nose.
Bridesmaid
Kim's been copying me for over 27 years now! I am her role model, coach and life advisor...justtttt kiddinggg..Kim is actually much wiser than I will ever be!! Growing up Kim was always agreeable to partake in my mischievous plans and we have many memorable stories as a result ;) I am so lucky I get to call Kim my sister and have her as part of our "I Do" Crew! If you see her at the wedding, conversation topics could include: how she was responsible for investing all of our Canadian Pension Plan funds, that her and her partner are going to be travelling the world indefinitely after our wedding, and her successful e-commerce business “Keepsie Kits."
Groomsman
When I was in grade 6, George was quite young. All the girls in my class hounded me to bring George around because he was the cutest baby. The teacher called him a chick magnet. George lives in California now and I miss him a lot. I am looking forward to the dance floor at our wedding - he will tear it up (no pressure George!). If you see him at the wedding, conversation topics could include: how he lived outside for three weeks during university, and his ability to ride horses and rock climb.
Bridesmaid
Michaela and I met working at BC Emergency Health Services and quickly became friends. Now 6+ years later, despite working at different organizations, our friendship has only grown stronger! Michaela is always down for happy hour drinks, fancy high tea, dancing the night away at a concert or a weekend girls trip. It is because of her I see so much of the city! She is also the token New Zealander in our wedding party - her accent is heavenly! If you see her at the wedding, conversation topics could include: growing up in New Zealand, her love for travelling (she plans the best trips!) and ride alongs in ambulances.
Groomsman
Nathan and I met the year after we both finished high school through mutual friends. Nathan was always the life of the party and had a magnetic personality. We met up with him in Asia after he and Dan had spent 6 months in Australia. It was quite the reunion! Nathan and I also lived together. We had a lot of fun in our apartment in Vancouver in our eary twenties. (Man i feel old) Nathan now lives in Squamish with his wife Emily and their twins, Zola & Theo! If you see him at the wedding, conversation topics could include: how much sleep he has gotten over the last year since becoming a father to twins, whether or not the greatest car ever made was a prelude, and appliances (he knows everything about them!).
Bridesmaid
Jessica and I met doing our Master of Health Administration at the University of British Columbia. We became instant friends - bonded by the misery of spending all our weekends in class. If left to our own devices, Jess and I would spend hours drinking champagne, eating snacks and scheming ways to retire at 35 ;) Jess also inspired us to adopt our dog after her success adopting Mia from Mexico. If you see her at the wedding, conversation topics could include: baby Lincoln, her big crazy Italian family and how she still collects royalties for her songs (cha ching!).
Groomsman
Liam and I met in grade eight in high school and became closer as we got older. Liam was a heart breaker then. I think most girls in high school had a crush on him at some point. After high school, Liam and bonded on our similar construction career paths and he was my bunk-mate as we travelled SE Asia and Australia. Liam now lives in Terrace, BC with his wife and two children. Although he is far away and I don't see him as often as I would like, I can always call him and chat without missing a beat. If you see him at the wedding, conversation topics could include: the amazing homes he has built all over the lower mainland, his lovely wife and two children, and the number of siblings he has (he has more than John!!).
