In the scorching July of 2020, fate had a surprise in store for us. Savannah's Forsyth Park, a lush oasis in the heart of the historic city, played a pivotal role in our story of how we met. Both of us had recently moved to Savannah. Vic had packed a little picnic, which we enjoyed six feet apart. That conversation flowed so well that it continued into text messages and phone calls. That evening marked the start of a beautiful journey. We continued to explore Savannah together, finding hidden gems and savoring culinary delights as we got to know each other better. Despite the uncertainties that surrounded us, our connection grew stronger with each passing day.
Keeping in theme with our first date, Vic proposed at the fountain in Forsythe Park. At the time Keri and Vic were living apart. Vic was attending Captain's Career Course in Richmond, VA and Keri continued to work in Savannah. Vic came to visit as a post Valentine's Day celebration and popped the question while strolling through Forsythe Park; right next to the bench where Keri and Vic shared their first date. Before moving to El Paso, Keri and Vic got legally married.
