You have questions? We have answers!
Question

Do I need an ETIAS or Visa to enter Spain?

Answer

It is highly likely that ETIAS will be postponed until 2026. In the event it is not, starting mid-2025, non-residents of the European Union are required to obtain a new travel authorization. If you're an American or Canadian citizen, the answer is likely YES, you will be required to have ETIAS authorization but you will not need an official Visa. Please visit https://travel-europe.europa.eu/etias/who-should-apply_en for specific information. Please remember to renew your passport if is expiring any time in 2025. US or Canadian passport lead times can be anywhere from 9-16 weeks.

Question

How quickly should I secure my hotel room and flight?

Answer

For your hotel- QUICKLY. This is tourist season in Europe and our resort venue will only have up to 64 rooms available nightly starting on August 25th. There are other options we've outlined for hotels and you are more than welcome to select your own Air BnB if you prefer something that feels more authentic to the region. For your flight- It's recommended you purchase your flight between a 3-6month window of arrival (for international attendees). You will see rates will vary but availability of connections and trans-Atlantic seats my decrease within 90 days of travel. General rule of thumb is 4 months prior to get the most effective purchase price when traveling for leisure. Keep in mind that return flights could be difficult based on time of season so it's better to start looking now.

Question

How do I contact the hotel for availability or reservation questions and revisions?

Answer

The quickest and simplest way to contact the hotel is via phone or email. You may contact the hotel Reservations Department at Telephone number +34 972 538 830, or email address of reservas@hotelperalada.com

Question

What's the best way to pay for stuff?

Answer

Use of tap secure credit or debit card is used widely across Europe. You shouldn't feel obligated to bring large sums of cash as plastic is accepted everywhere, with the exception of American Express at smaller vendors.

Question

How's the jetlag?

Answer

We recommend you arrive in Country 48hrs-72hrs ahead of time if you're arriving from North America. The time difference will be +7hrs ahead from US Central Standard Time and jetlag is usually at its worst on day two for those traveling trans-Atlantic.

Question

How do we get around upon landing in Spain?

Answer

We won't be curating any large bus services for airport to hotel transfers. Within the city of Barcelona, taxi's are cost affordable and efficient. Parking is plentiful at Castell de Perlada for guests who are renting vehichles/vans. Our guests are encouraged to also utilize train or driver services for point to point transportation to and from Peralada Resort. Car rentals from BCN can be very affordable, if you are renting a vehicle, it's recommended you allow for up to 2hrs of driving one way to or from Peralada back to Barcelona.

Question

For the ladies.... hair equipment?

Answer

I would recommend using the hair dryer at the hotel and utilizing guest services for any steaming, dress pressing or laundry requirements. Please don't forget to bring a power inverter for your expensive hair equipment! DO NOT TRAVEL WITH A DYSON HAIR TOOL (Dyson hair tools are specialized and require a very unique type of power inverter. Do not believe what you read on Amazon!).

Question

Is there a dress code for non-wedding events?

Answer

There is no strict dress code listed at Peralada Resort, but since it's a 5 Star Diamond Resort, we kindly recommend dressing in elevated, resort appropriate attire- especially if you plan to visit the finer dining restaurants (Restaurant Peralada Michelin Star or L'Olivera Restaurant) or the Casino. Think chic and comfortable, rather than over formal. We want you to feel and look your best, while enjoying the beautiful surroundings. When outside the resort within the town or winery, it's completely acceptable to dress as casual as you'd like.

Question

Do I need reservations to eat at Hotel Peralada Restaurants

Answer

There are 2 dining options onsite at the hotel, Restaurant L'Olivera and the 19th Hole. Breakfast and lunch at the 19th hole or resort's main restaurant L'Olivera can be enjoyed without a reservation. However, if you are having dinner at L'Olivera, a reservation is required and we recommend booking in advance or upon arrival. If you're interested in exploring beyond the resort, The Peralada Michelin Star restaurant is located next to the Casino, as well as other great options in the surrounding town just 10minutes of walking from the hotel. If you are renting a vehicle, there are a tremendous amount of dining options within a 25min drive of Hotel Peralada. We ask you to be safe and have a designated driver if you are eating offsite.

Question

Can we and our kiddos swim on premises?

Answer

Of course! The hotel has a large, elegant swimming pool to keep you and those kiddos having fun in the hot Spanish months. The pool will also have an outdoor bar and food services. No reservations are required if you are staying on premises.

Question

Is there a pharmacy and grocery store in Peralada?

Answer

Yes, there will be small options of both pharmacological or grocery needs. Guest services at the hotel can help direct and guide you within walking distances, of where you can go! It's highly recommended that you remember to fill your prescriptions or acquire any medical items you may need prior to arrival in Perlada.

Question

Am I restricted to stay at Hotel de Peralada?

Answer

We recommend for immediate family, wedding party and extended family you do stay on property. We welcome you to do what you believe is best for your travel needs. We are just so blessed and thankful you're making it all the way to Spain for our special day and we're excited to have you. There are secondary options for hotels located close by, you can utilize taxi services to get around but it is recommended you rent a car if you're planning on doing your own sightseeing and staying at different hotels. We've recommended some additional options in our travel tab.

Question

Where is everyone coming from?

Answer

We are blessed to be an international family! As of now, our guests are arriving from 6 different countries around the world! If you would like to travel with a larger group based on departure location, let us know and we'll see what we can do to help! Main hubs of airport travel for our guests are currently: Chicago (ORD) Milwaukee (MKE) Kansas City (MCI) Paris (CDG) Toronto (YYZ) Nairobi (NBO) United Kingdom (LHR) Spain (BCN/SVQ)

Question

What do I do if I have questions?

Answer

Please ensure in the subject column, you list your last name, followed by "Wedding Question for Karmali Wedding". We will do our best to answer you within 48hrs of receipt of your request!

Question

What is my cancellation cutoff date for your wedding?

Answer

We understand life happens, if you have RSVP'd as "attending" based on your invite count but you need to back out, we are asking you to notify us no later than June 1st, 2025. We are operating off of a compressed timeline. We are required to supply the venue with final headcount and meal selections by April 11th, 2025 and final table setup and guest confirmations for printed items no later than May 31st, 2025. It's also recommended that if you are not 100% confident in your ability to travel, book a refundable airline fair so you're not at a loss financially. As a reminder, the Peralada Hotel hotel reservation can be cancelled up to 30 days prior to our event without penalty.
