Kenric met my mother at a family event in late 2017. At this event, Mom mentioned how he just had to meet her daughter, Maria as they'd be perfect together. Kenric shrugged this off, as "he'd heard this statement often before", so he didn't give it much further thought. As fate would have it Kenric bumped into my Mom several times, over the course of the next few months. Each time reaffirmed her thoughts, Kenric and Maria needed to meet. April 14, 2018, I visited home, Muskogee, OK for a family event. Kenric was also in attendance. Mom spotted Kenric and called him over to chat. She also summoned me and as I turned around Kenric and I made our first eye contact. That moment sparked the beginning of our life journey. From that moment, we knew nothing would ever separate us.

No matter where we are or what we're doing, we completely enjoy being in each other's presence. Maria and I made a commitment the day we met to put each other first. We lived in different states, but we decided we wouldn't allow a single weekend to pass without seeing each other. From that moment forward every weekend has been a journey, an experience, and a wonderful page-turner to our new story.

After 2 months of our weekly travels to and from Dallas/Muskogee, I took some vacation time to immerse myself in everything Kenric Lee and our families. It was early on a Thursday morning, the sun was shining brightly through the window. Kenric taps me on the shoulder to wake me up. It took me a moment to pull it together, but as I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes, there he was. King was kneeling before me down on one knee. He asked for my hand in marriage and to spend the rest of my life with him. Through tears of joy, I happily accepted.

life got crazy... during our planning we got so busy and wrapped up in trying to make things fit a short window that we forgot about our vision. So, we decided to push the wedding date back, slow down and plan our dream wedding.
