They often say that love finds you when you need it most and when you least expect it. That is exactly how our story began. In 2021, we both entered a residential treatment center for alcoholism that had plagued us for years and in the darkest time of our lives, we found each other - connecting instantly on a level neither of us could explain. We became instant friends, each other's confidants, and walked the difficult road of early recovery together. After treatment, our friendship, which was built on a strong foundation of honesty, trust, and vulnerability soon developed into so much more - into a deep profound love neither of us had ever experienced. We knew we were soulmates (something neither of us believed in previously) and that everything in our pasts... the good, the bad, and the ugly, led us to find each other, confirming our belief that everything happens for a reason and strengthening our faith. Now with over 2 and a half years of sobriety between us, we are each other's rocks, strength, biggest fans, and first and foremost, still best friends. There wasn't a doubt in either of our minds as our relationship progressed that together, we were unstoppable, and that there was nothing we wanted more than to continue to walk this path together, wherever it leads us, for the rest of our lives.
