Curtis and Belinda met a short while ago through a mutual friend, Pam Henderson. Pam was a friend to Curtis all the way back to school days. Belinda and Pam just came friends in the last three years through what started as a work relationship. We now know that this connection was not just coincidence and really God orchestrated the whole thing. Curtis's cousin, Tootie, asked a group of ladies she walked with if they knew of a nice girl for Curtis to be friends with since his wife had passed away about a year prior. Pam was in this group of ladies and knew that her friend Belinda had also lost her husband a few years prior and was not seeing anyone. The next week, Pam told Belinda she had a friend she wanted her to meet. Pam gave Tootie Belinda's phone number and by six o'clock on the following Monday, Curtis was on the phone with Belinda. Curtis and Belinda talked every night for hours. The conversation was fun and lighthearted so they decided to meet that following Friday, March 6th. That was the beginning of God's plan for their future. On that evening, Curtis gave Belinda a "promise ring" with the promise that he would be every thing he had said he would and that he would honor God's plan for their lives. The relationship has been easy, eventful, fun, busy, exciting, and so much more.

Curtis, along with his children and Belinda's family, unbeknownst to Belinda, planned his proposal to Belinda at The Chimneys restaurant on May 13th, 2023. He cleverly disguised this to her as a mothers day dinner where everyone could meet each other. At the end of dinner, he suggested we all go out under the magnolia trees and take some family pictures. Of course, everyone except Belinda knew what was about to occur. Belinda was smiling for pictures and that's when Curtis got down on one knee and asked her to be his wife. She of course said yes and we were all so happy! We are all excited for this new chapter in our lives and look forward to spending a magnificent wedding day with friends and family at Lighthouse Baptist Church 3003 Belair Street Pascagoula, MS 39567
