Aaron and I met through mutual friends. His friend worked with my friend and they introduced the two groups. One Saturday we all went to brunch, Top Golf, and ended the night at The Drinkery. A few weeks later we went on our first date to The Eagle, followed by drinks at Lachman. After a night of wine and fried chicken, I was smitten.
My family had planned our annual trip to Festival of Lights. Conveniently, Aaron's sister, brother-in-law, and nephew were coming in town the Saturday after, so I suggested they tag along on the adventure (Note: our families had already met). At the zoo, we quickly walked through the lights. As we were leaving, my sister suggested pictures in front of the tree. To my surprise Aaron volunteered for us to go first, but he seemed more annoyed than anything. We got our picture, and I began to walk away. Aaron grabbed my hands, said "I love you," and got down on a knee. Next thing I know, I've got a ring on my hand, tears in my eyes, and our families surrounding us.
