JK We’re Getting Married

We are so excited to be getting married and while we thought about a big wedding, a small elopement is something that is more us. Check out our FAQ’s for info!

We met the “modern way” as most of our friends and family know. Kenna actually rescheduled the first date because of her love of Halloween and wanting to go dance at QDP with her friends. So on 11/1/21 we had our first date at a coffee shop in East Nashville called The Frothy Monkey. We talked about our dogs for most of our date and got to know each other. Going for coffee turned into, why don’t we order brunch and then, why don’t we have another coffee. It was a long first date and Jared drank so much coffee he was buzzing around at work later that day. And the rest is history!

The origin of #jkweregettingmarried Jared proposed in a hobbit house in Dickson TN. The house was a surprise getaway on April Fools Day. Kenna had her suspicions but thought Jared wouldn’t be proposing on April Fool’s Day. But she was wrong! We got to the house, listened to jazz, drank bourbon and worked on a puzzle. We went for a walk in the woods and then ate cheese & crackers in a gazebo. Jared went into the house as Kenna took selfies outside. Jared called Kenna into the house where she walked in hands full of crackers & cheese to see Jared on one knee. After throwing the snacks against the wall she said yes. We never really thought about the repercussions of an April Fool’s Day engagement until everyone we texted said funny joke. That is until they saw our pictures. We both laughed about it and thought well jk we’re getting married really does fit our story!
