Picture it. Philly. 2015. Erick was living in "the swamp" with the boys. I was bartending my way through college (this was before finding my passion for flossing, so hang tight, we both get better in this story). I met Erick as he confidently flirted his way to some free beers- don't worry, I think the statute of limitations for pilfering beers has past by now, right? Anyway, Erick and his friends would frequent Smith's Bar and Restaurant, but our first official date wasn't until May 25, 2016. Truthfully, we both went in different directions but somehow we both knew there was more to our story. We finally reconnected in 2021. Who would have thought some laughs in a bar could lead to such an incredible life together. Our story is a reminder that sometimes, the most unexpected places and moments can lead to the most beautiful love stories.
Since Erick knows me so well and was certain that in NO way would I be able to compose myself in a public setting, he did forgo the cookie cutter type proposal, choosing to instead wait until we were in our favorite place together- home. Rather than get down on one knee during dinner at Morton's Steakhouse earlier that evening, Erick knew the perfect setting would not be across a table at a restaurant but cozy at home in our kitchen, just us (and the cats, of course!). And it was perfect. Erick asked, I cried (as expected), and said "YES!"... now we all get to celebrate together! We are so excited to celebrate the next chapter of our lives with you! To give all our guests the opportunity to celebrate without having to worry about little ones, we politely request no children outside of our immediate family attend. Invitations to follow. We hope to see you in September!
