In typical millennial fashion, Ken and I met on a dating app. We quickly discovered that we both had a love for country music, specifically Luke Combs. Ironically, Luke was coming to Eugene the following week. Three days after swiping right, Ken made the bold move of buying us tickets. We got dinner beforehand and went to the concert together. I guess Ken didn't mind my singing at the concert because we haven't left each other's sides since.
Ken executed this perfectly, I had NO idea. After the hecticness of the Holidays...Ken and I were looking for a nice relaxing New Years Eve getaway just the two of us. We found an Airbnb out in Astoria, grabbed our puppy and headed to the coast. We had dinner reservations at a nice restaurant Friday night. After dinner he wanted to walk out on the jetty near the restaurant. It was pouring rain, so I refused to go and complained that it smelled to much like fish water. After dragging me over there and not taking no for an answer, I looked up to see the whole walkway decorated with Christmas lights and rose petals. I sat on the chair there while Ken got down on one knee. Bawled my eyes out, and said YES! My sister and her boyfriend were hiding in the bushes nearby after setting up the whole thing. They stayed for the rest of the weekend to help us celebrate and we all rang in the New Year together. We are so excited for this chapter of our lives and can't wait to celebrate it with all of you!
