Isaac: I knew Kemi as early as 2013 back at Cameron University. She was a student there and I had a couple of friends I would visit often who attended the university. I wanted to reach out to her but we never really had a reason to chat. After she graduated Cameron University, she made a Facebook post and as a "sharp guy", I replied "congratulations" and started a conversation with her online. Then we started talking as platonic friends. We had our first conversation in 2015.

Kemi : In my head, I tagged him my "December friend". I only saw him every December - when he came home from school for the holidays . I guess it's no surprise our wedding is in December Haha! In 2018, after he was done with medical school abroad, we met again and as always our friendship was still as strong as ever. This was when he started talking about marriage and the prospect of a relationship. Honestly, I did not think he was serious. So I asked him to go talk to my pastor . Surprisingly, he did. I told my mom there was someone I was interested in and we started praying about it . Our prayer point was that if this was from God, let it work. If not, let it amicably dissolve. I felt so much peace about us during this time that I did not have before when I thought about the prospect of a relationship with him. After a couple months, some time in March in 2019 we officially started our relationship and the rest as they say is history.

Isaac : I had been organizing a proposal with Kemi's friends. Everyone was on board. We had a plan. I had spoken to her dad and pastor about it. But everytime I asked my Queen when she would be available , she was ALWAYS working . She had just moved into a new apartment and I felt the time was right. I would have waited until her Birthday to propose to her but she had to travel to Mayo Clinic for some trainings. I could not hold it in anymore LOL. (I gave up) I asked her to marry me. She said yes!
