How We Met

We first met at a housewarming party for two of our closest friends. We both had been sneaking glances at each other from across the lawn for a little while before Ryan made his move... And then oddly enough, he ended up chatting with my mother before he even talked to me (and trust me, she will tell you how pivotal she was to the two of us meeting)! We quickly discovered that the two of us had a lot in common, and spent the rest of the afternoon weaving through party-goers and talking about movies, video games, and our lives in general. By the end of the night, we had each other’s numbers, and each other’s hearts 💜

The First Date

Our first date took place at The Shelburne Museum, where we explored the inside of a ship, made bookmarks at an old-school printing press, and took our very first picture together in an oversized chair. After that, we went apple picking at Shelburne Orchard. Ryan quickly found all of the free donut tickets hiding in the trees, scoring some sweet treats for the two of us and some cute little kid. We then went to his apartment, where we destroyed a vat of homemade seafood chowder made by the groom himself and baked an apple pie out of our harvest.

The Proposal

Cruising on the ocean blue has become our beloved vacation tradition ever since the Serenade of the Seas. Our trip to the Bahamas would be one to remember. We got engaged on a beautiful sandy beach after a day spent snorkeling in a rainbow of fish. As the sun was beginning to set, and we were due to return to the ship, Ryan knelt in the surf and proposed. Though I knew it was coming from a mile away, that didn’t stop me from knocking my new fiancé over into the water.
