Kelsey and Parker met during the fall semester of 2012 at the University of Kansas. Over the next three years, they crossed paths several times, in class and around Lawrence as they had similar friend groups, including one morning on campus in 2014 after Parker thoughtfully inquired about Kelsey’s younger brother, Brodey, who had recently broken his ankle. The two hit it off, but the stars weren’t aligned at the time and the two went on their separate ways. Their paths crossed again the next year when Kelsey and Parker happened to be on the same flight to Las Vegas with their KU friends for fall break. The two were initially assigned seats next to each other, unbeknownst to either of them, but Parker had already agreed to swap seats with a friend. When he saw Kelsey sit down in her assigned seat, he immediately regretted his decision and went up to talk to her while they waited for their bags at baggage claim. Soon after, the two were immediately inseparable and the rest is history. Kelsey and Parker had both already accepted full time job offers in 2015 before they started dating - with Kelsey heading back to her hometown of Wichita KS to and Parker to NYC. As the looming reality of different directions approached both Kelsey and Parker were determined to make things work and agreed to pursue a long-distance relationship. Over the next two years Kelsey and Parker would visit one another and would plan destination vacations to meet up with one another to make the best of the situation. In 2018 Kelsey landed a job in NYC marking the end of long distance and the start of a really wonderful new chapter! For the last five years they have lived together enjoying all NYC has to offer.
