This story takes us all the way back to Valentines Day 2005 when a young boy with an Afro and grey sweat pants showed up at my door with a "bag of wonders" , and roses. He asked if I would go for a walk with him. I remember my heart was pounding and I was definitely sweating. We sat down by a skating rink and he pulled out a box of cinnamon hearts, chocolates, and a card. He asked me to be his girlfriend and sealed it with a kiss. Though we have had different relationships since then, we have always remained friends. We have been each others shoulder to cry on, rock to lean on and have always made time to listen to what is going on in each other’s life. Whether we have been in the same city or in different provinces, our long phone conversations have always kept us connected (even into the wee hours of the morning). Throughout this roller coaster we call life, we have learned that there is nothing more valuable than a person who is there for you unconditionally. We are so happy to be that person for each other for the rest of our lives.
