We met through my sister and one of Joe's friends. We lost touch for a couple of years, but rekindled at the most elegant of Chicago events, the Hot Dog Fest, and have been together ever since.
Joe planned an intimate proposal with family and close friends at my parent's house. I thought I was going to a winery, however instead was surprised to find everyone waiting in the backyard. I had been set on wearing flip flops, but luckily my sister Kim was insistent that I get a little dressier for the occasion. Joe first led with it being an intervention to stop my Instagram addiction but instead, surprised me by getting down on one knee. Joe tried to hand me the ring, but I made sure to correct him mid-proposal that he needed to put it on my finger. Covid's thrown us a few curveballs, but we're excited to finally be able to say "I Do" with everyone this coming September.
