How We Met

Do you remember the 21st night of September? We will never forget that last first date!

We met the classic 2021 way through the dating app, Bumble. Kelli thought Wehman was pretty cute so asked him how his day was going, and not long after Wehman asked if she wanted to grab a beer one afternoon. Kelli pulled up in front of the classy establishment, "Don's," and received a text from Wehman saying that he was the "fool in the sling." It turns out Wehman had dislocated his shoulder the night before playing soccer! Good thing he was about to meet a PT who could give him some advice. A drink turned into dinner, and many laughs and stories later we went our separate ways. We texted a bit after that, and Kelli ended up asking Wehman if he wanted to join her and her two best friends for a Modest Mouse concert at Red Rocks for our second date. That was the start of a relationship filled with many more concerts, hikes, ski days, travel, and many many laughs. We are so excited to share our love with our family and friends on September 7th, 2024! Three years later to the month :)

The Proposal

The proposal might've happened on October 28th, but the planning process goes back to early July! During their normal trip back to South Carolina for the Fourth of July, Kelli got a first look at the diamond in her engagement ring Wehman's Grandmother so graciously gifted. After giving Wehman the approval that the diamond would suffice, the ring creation process commenced. After a brief scare that the USPS lost the diamond in the mail, it finally arrived to Denver in late July. Wehman toured around for the right Jeweler, and with the help of Kelli's sister Gina, friend Carolyn, and Wehman's mom Kathy, the ring was created. Fast forward to late October, on a surprisingly cold and snowy Saturday morning, Wehman suggested that the two walk through Wash Park to a cool new brunch spot. Despite being a bundle of nerves and after squawking at a gaggle of geese in the park, Wehman dropped to a knee and asked Kelli to marry him. She said "yeah" as both Kelli and Wehman welled with tears near some benches and trees they'll be able to share the remainder of their lives. The two had a nice brunch together, and afterwards headed to a brewery in Denver's RiNo district where friends and family were there to surprise Kelli. We are so excited for each and every one of you to come to Denver and support us as we take the next step in our relationship and say "I do." We'd be happy to point out the benches and trees where the proposal went down. Much love!

For all the days along the way
