Kelli's Version: I had redownloaded Hinge (Paid $29.99 to hopefully get something other then DUDS) and swiped on Nathan. He had a picture of him in front of a rainbow, which I took to be a good sign. On the way to our first date, I got pulled over for expired tags (literally 1 month expired, RELAX) so I went into the date thinking, if this guy sucks I am going to be even more annoyed! We had agreed to meet for drinks at Kirby Ice House, before going to a movie. When I walked into Kirby, it was PACKED, there were also a LOT of men there, when he walked towards me, I realized the best looking one was my date! I immediately had butterflies. We sat down at the bar and chatted for about an hour, and by the time we sat down for the movie I was pretty smitten. Don't ask me the plot of Mission Impossible Ghost Protcol, because I don't think I absorbed 1 minute of that movie. I texted a few people that night that this felt very different then other dates I've been on. I drove home with the biggest smile on my face, and the rest is pretty much history. Nathan's Version: When we matched on Hinge, I thought Kelli was beautiful, and checked all the boxes for someone I was looking for: beautiful, Christian woman, social, funny, smart, established career, enjoys being active and sports. When we first met at Kirby Ice House, conversation flowed so naturally it was like we had known each other for forever. There was an instant connection, so much so that I got butterflies on wanting to hold her hand in the movie. (She let me) After that, I knew there was something very special about her. Also funnily enough, I got pulled over for speeding that day also! 1 year later - we got engaged!
