Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive by 3:50pm so we can start the ceremony procession on time. You are more than welcome to arrive starting at 3:30pm to enjoy the grounds and gardens.

Is there transportation to and from the hotel to the ceremony?

Answer

At this time, we do not have a shuttle scheduled. But it is a quick 5 minute drive (1.5 miles) to the hotel/reception and ceremony venue. To get to Robert Mills House and Gardens from the Hilton Columbia Center, head towards Gervais Street from the parking garage and turn right onto Gervais Street. Approximately .5 miles down, turn left onto Bull Street. Stay in the right hand lane and travel another .5 miles (4 blocks). Turn right onto Taylor Street. Once on Taylor Street, stay in the left lane. You will pass the back part of Robert Mills this way. The next street you will see is Henderson Street, turn left onto Henderson Street and the parking lot will be on the left. If the parking lot is full, there is other street parking available as well.

What is the dress attire?

Answer

Please keep in mind, this is an outdoor venue with limited inside space. Spring/summer in Columbia can be warm and humid, so please prepare accordingly. We suggest cocktail attire. For women, we suggest a cocktail dress, dressy jumpsuit, knee-length or a midi length dress. For men, a dress jacket, suit, ties and slacks are suggested. LADIES: The majority of the grounds including where the ceremony will take place on the front lawn, is all grass. Plan your shoes accordingly.

What is the plan if it rains?

Answer

Please bring an umbrella if the weather does look spotty. We will have a few extras onsite for you to use, but not enough for everyone. The ceremony will take place at Robert Mills RAIN OR SHINE. If weather becomes inclement, please keep an eye on your phones for a message from the bride or groom about the change of plans if necessary.

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

There is a section on the RSVP page where you can input your allergies or dietary restrictions. We will do our best to accommodate this and have this available during the reception for you!

Question

Can I bring a date? Are kids welcome?

Answer

Please only bring those that are addressed on your invitation to the ceremony and reception. We have planned our day to celebrate with all of those we love and have accounted everyone accordingly already when invitations were sent out. Thank you for understanding!

Where should we bring/send our wedding gifts?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is the greatest gift we could ask for! If you would like to honor us with a gift, you can have it delivered to our home (106 Squire Road, Columbia SC 29223). A wedding card box will be at our reception.
