We first met at the Chinatown Lunar New Year Celebration in 2015 after both of our wushu schools did a martial arts demonstration in Hing Hay Park. We all decided to get dim sum afterwards at Duk Li Dim Sum (now re-named Homestyle Dim Sum), where we were seated next to each other at the gan. Daniel and Leanna knew that they had met someone special - and then immediately lost contact with each other. Almost a full year later, Daniel joined UW Wushu - where Leanna had been training for the past two years. As they trained together, they slowly learned that they had more in common than not - from martial arts to movies, music, video-games, delightfully macabre things, foodie stuff, and a love of small fuzzy animals. After many jam sessions, text messages, movie viewings, and a live show of Patton Oswald, they walked into wushu practice hand-in-hand - to the team positively screaming in support.
