We met on Match; I admit I waited longer than I should have to respond to his message, though it does make for a funny story. We had our first date at the Red Poppy Festival in Georgetown. After our time at Poppy Fest, we got Mexican food and went bowling. He asked me out again for the next day and we have been inseparable ever since.

Last spring, I was having trouble meeting a Christian woman who liked me and started to wonder if I should date non-Christians. I prayed hard, asking God to help me have more success meeting Christian women if it was meant to be. The very next day I was talking with three churchgoing women, and I went on several dates with one of them. A week later I got a message from Keeley. We met a couple days later, and within a couple hours I knew we had something special. Later I found out that she waited six weeks before responding to my initial message because she thought I had a unibrow. We had a good laugh about that.

We went on a beach trip with friends. We had talked about an engagement in the future, but there was no hard timeframe of when that would be. The four of us were sitting at a table at the beach house. I said, "I know I'm jumping the gun, but when we get engaged, I'm going to need a Matron of Honor". I couldn't figure out why all three of them were giving me such weird looks. I had no idea what was about to happen. We got ready to go the beach. They wanted to get there before sunset. Keith and I were walking side by side in the water. The next thing I knew, he wasn't next to me anymore. I turned around to look for him and he was kneeling in the shallow water. He asked me to spend the rest of my life with him. I said yes.

I fell in love with Keeley very quickly, but it wasn't scary because I knew I could trust her. I decided to propose when I knew we can meet each other's needs, we want the same things, and I could love Keeley for her flaws rather than in spite of them. We looked at rings together and I knew she was ready to get engaged, but she didn't know it would happen so soon. We were planning a trip to Galveston, and I messaged her best friend to ask her to take pictures when I proposed. We walked out to the beach, and I popped the question there.
