Keith and I met at Publix where he was my assistant store manager and I was a bakery clerk. I had a secret crush on him the whole time he was my manager, without him knowing of course, but he was unavailable at the time so I had to let him go. Keith got transferred and over a year later he commented on a photo that I posted on Facebook. We messaged each other shortly after and I found out that he was a single man once again and I knew I had a chance. Even though I am a few years younger I insisted that he and I have lunch or just talk some time. Keith gave me a chance and from that moment on we have been inseparable.
We were with my family in Destin Florida visiting my brother and his wife. They took us to this breath-taking beach called 30A where the water looked like a postcard. This beach was known for its beauty and for its abundant amount of sand dollars that could be found in the shallows. Unbeknown to me Keith had the ring in his pocket while we were wading in the water and taking pictures. Knowing that it was very common to find sand dollars at this particular beach, Keith had the perfect idea on how he would propose. While bending down on one knee Keith removed the ring from his pocket and he said in a loud voice, "I found one". As you could imagine he got my immediate attention because I wanted to see the sand dollar he found. I walked over to see the sand dollar in his tightly clinched fist when the surprise of a lifetime hit me. Keith opened his had and the most beautiful ring I have ever seen was sitting there in the palm of it. I quickly pushed his hand away thinking he was joking with me, as he always does, saying, "That's not real". I thought he really just found a ring in the sand and was teasing me. It took me a good two or three seconds to realize that this is real and the man I always dreamed of is going to be mine for the rest of my life. Behind tear filled eyes and a shaky voice I said, "Yes". We embraced in the water and cherished the moment. We are engaged and starting a journey that will last a lifetime.
