Question

What should I know about the wedding ceremony?

Answer

The wedding ceremony will begin with the Rite of Marriage and will be followed by the Traditional Latin Mass. Pamphlets will be available for those who wish to follow along with the Mass. Please feel free to sit if kneeling becomes difficult. The priests of St. Anne's have asked us to include the following note regarding how to comport oneself in church, modesty in dress, and how to receive Holy Communion at the Traditional Latin Mass: "A Catholic Church is a holy place. Our Lord dwells there as He dwells nowhere else except in heaven. In keeping with the holiness of this place we ask that you refrain from talking before the wedding ceremony. Some norms for women include the following: necklines should not be revealing, backs must be covered, no sleeveless dresses or blouses, dresses and skirts should reach below the knees, clothes should not be skin-tight, see-through material is not appropriate. The wearing of a veil is encouraged. The wearing of shorts and flip flops at the rehearsal is inappropriate. "In order to receive Holy Communion in the Catholic Church one must be a practicing Catholic — someone who goes to church every Sunday, someone who avails himself of confession as needed. Holy Communion is received kneeling at the Communion rail (unless you're unable to kneel), and is only given on the tongue, not in the hand. When the priest stands in front of you, open your mouth wide and extend your tongue to the outer edge of your lower lip. You do not respond 'Amen.'" Above all, we are so grateful to have you with us for this ancient rite and hope that you will be able to find the beauty in the sacredness and silence as we have.

Question

What is parking like?

Answer

Parking at the church is limited, so we encourage you to reserve a little extra time for finding a space. There is a small lot on the left side of the church. When that reaches capacity, parishioners regularly use street parking along the nearby houses or the elementary school. Please do not block driveways or park within the fenced back alley. For the reception, we are renting a small parking lot for the evening across the street from the house.
