Our first meeting was at a gig in Atlantic City ... but it wasn't that simple ... We started as acquaintances, then friends, then intriguing friends. Keely knew he was the one from the start, but Cory took a bit longer to let his feelings flourish. Our courtship didn't start right away, in fact we started spending time together creating music with a respectful distance (at least thats what Cory thought). The timing just didn't work out at first and we went our separate ways for a while. In an attempt to reconnect and bring us back together Keely invited Cory to many of her gigs, but he just never seemed to be able to make any of them. This went on for months, Keely reaching out and Cory (obliviously) declining for one reason or another. Just as she was about to give up, Cory ran into Keely at the end of a gig that Keely had just played at Bourbon and Branch. Cory had no idea that she was playing that night and had headed up to say hi to some of the other performers he knew, in fact he had only randomly decided to go out to the venue, as he was celebrating a birthday with another friend of his. When they saw each other something felt different than before and they ended up talking late into the night until the bar closed. That's when they BOTH knew that there was something more between them. A few weeks later Cory FINALLY made it to a gig that Keely had patiently invited him to and their souls have been connected ever since!
*From the best of our collective memories* On a gray January Sunday (the Eagles NFC Championship) Keely and Cory decided to take a trip to their newly purchased home in Roxborough to take in the place for the first-time post renovations, before heading to watch the game. Keely had not seen updates to the house in person and was eager to explore! Unbeknownst to her Cory had conspired with both parents to prepare the house for a proposal - the back yard had been secretly stashed with Cory's candles, blanket and champagne by the Wilsons, and Ellen was ready to call and distract Keely to let Cory slip away and prepare the backyard for the big question - they expected that Keely would want to go straight to the backyard, so her mom would call her and ask for a Facetime tour of the upstairs first. As with most life plans - things didn't go as planned and Keely ran straight upstairs before her mom could call, so Cory called an audible and quickly ran to the backyard to set up the proposal items. After exploring upstairs and then coming down to find a blanket on the grass, Keely suddenly appeared and asked excitedly and innocently "Oh are we having a picnic?!" "Uhh... Yes!" answered Cory having not completed the setup and realizing that the moment was going to happen before he expected and needed to buy just a little more time. "Ok I'll go get my coat!" Keely chimed brightly and ran back into the house. Cory quickly scrambled to place the candles and Champagne while nervously holding on to his grandmother’s ring with which he planned to propose. Keely reappeared and stopped in her tracks with a questioning look on her face. “What’s going on?” She asked. “Come over here” Cory replied. Keely slowly walked to the grass area underneath the Japanese maple tree in their new back yard, into the middle of the blue blanket in front of Cory. She had been anticipating this moment for a while now, but never expected that Cory would get away with catching her this off guard (she is VERY hard to surprise). Cory stood in front of her and collected his thoughts as much as he could. He had thought of this moment and what exactly he was going to say for weeks on end, but it had all flushed from his brain in the moment. He always knew this proposal would come from his heart and in the moment. Something short, and something true. So, he took the plunge and said, “I have something I’ve been wanting to ask you for a while now, I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?” “What! Uh hold on” said Keely as she humorously closed her eyes to think, leaving Cory anxiously waiting… and “Yes!” Keely exclaimed. They kissed and embraced each other for a while. Then Keely asked, “I don’t even remember what you said... can you do it again?” He tried again, and fortunately still got the YES. Keely and Cory took some time to enjoy the first moments of their engagement for themselves for a bit, all the while Ellen had been waiting for Keely’s call! Having not heard from Keely for what felt like hours, she thought the worst, but the Sibilia’s couldn’t have been happier when the newly engaged couple had called explaining the entire story. Hilary and Brad joined in on facetime, and a call to the Wilsons followed. Everyone celebrated joyously for the rest of the day, and a big win for the Eagles didn’t hurt ;) We can confidently say that this was one of the best days of our lives. We are ready to add another day just like this one come June 16th with all of you lovely people! THE END Xo Keely and Cory
