During the 2018 - 2019 school year, Kaylynn and Sloan met as members of the Lutheran campus ministry, Treehouse at Texas A&M University. Sloan thought that Kaylynn was absolutely ravishing but never thought such an attractive young woman would ever go for him. Little did he know that Kaylynn felt the same way. After playing cat and mouse for the better part of two semesters, Sloan embedded his phone number in the genetic code he had Kaylynn write out in her notes, and they had their first date a week later. On their first date, they went to Layne's and stayed there for a few hours. They talked and snapped nonstop until they saw each other again at Kaylynn's apartment on May 3, 2019 when Sloan and Kaylynn officially started dating. Since, they have been inseparable!

While Kaylynn ran around campus taking Aggie ring day pictures, Sloan and his corps buddies gathered at the Texas A&M gardens in preparation for the proposal. When Kaylynn came to the Gardens for pictures, Sloan's friends sprung from the bushes, brought Kaylynn to the vineyard where Sloan and his friends were waiting, and walked down the aisle in her famous crocs.
