When we met we were children chasing different dreams. As kids we had moved in and out of one another's lives without thought. Until our friends brought us together for something more. When we met again this time as adults we found one another in a different way. It took our best friends wedding, two holidays, an international move, and a pandemic for us to realize that this was the life we knew we had been chasing. Our lives changed and we found the love that transcends borders and oceans. And we've never been more excited for the future. We are so excited for our family to grow and come together for this amazing day.
Our family tradition on any given Sunday is a farewell drink on the deck of our Whidbey retreat, The Kastle. Only this time was different. Still in my pajamas Nate pulled me around the corner with a school boy skip, my hands in his. He told me he had a whole plan, but that he could not wait any longer. This was the moment that was meant to be. Before he could even drop to knee I burst into tears shaking as I asked him if this was really happening, to which he simply said yes. The words taken from my own mouth. It was nothing short of perfect as our family had just spent their first weekend all together gathered for Thanksgiving. As we walked around the corner everyone waited with excitement and greeted us with warm hugs and tearing faces. We were everything that could be, loved.
