The first time I ever saw Landon was at auditions for a high-school production of Footloose. I remember seeing him over my shoulder during stretches and just thinking he was so cute. The director just happened to pair us up for partner dances and I knew I had to make a move because I could tell he was shy. He had a stain on the sweatshirt he was wearing that night so I told him “You’ve got something on your shirt!”, and he said “Yeah I know it’s a stain.” I then flicked him on the nose and said “Gotcha anyway!” We laughed it off and started practicing the dance they were teaching. We mostly stuck together for the rest of the audition after my little ice breaking stunt. We were sitting on a bench together getting ready to do our song portion of the audition. He told me he was singing “White Wedding” by Billy Idol and I told him I was singing “True Colors” by Cyndi Lauper. I then offered my phone number just in case one of us didn’t make it I would have a way to contact him afterwards. He texted me for the first time as soon as we parted ways. A couple days later he asked me out to the movies and we have been inseparable ever since. P.S. We both made our auditions and were cast as co-stars. Ren and Ariel.
That morning, Kaylee and I were getting ready for what she believed to be a regular family photo session. Little did she know This was the day I was going to ask her to marry me. I remember driving to the venue and going over the plan 100s of times in my head. Once we arrived the butterflies in my stomach had begun to fly. We entered the building and said our hellos to the family, as normal. We took many photos with the family that evening with the family. Once that was finished. The plan was sent into full force. I stepped away from Kaylee, were I was briefed on what to do and where to be. I was also mic'd up. Once finished with that, I met back up with a confused Kaylee. We decided to walk down and check out the elaborately lighted pergola. Kaylee's aunt had asked if we wanted to have our photos taken and we agreed. As we were posing for the photo I got down on my knee and asked her "the question!" I remember once she said yes, the nervous butterflies turned to excited ones! I slipped the ring on her finger and lovingly embraced the woman who would be my future wife!
