We met during our 2020 deployment to Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Our mutual friend Chad, introduced us as Kaylee was joining the “boys” during their morning workouts.

After growing an unbreakable friendship, a year later and another deployment… Joe returned to San Diego! Not a day went by that we did not either email, text, call, or FaceTime throughout the year! It is EXTREMELY evident that our friendship was meant for more! So on this date July 1st 2021, 2 years ago, we decided it was time for the next step!

The day after Joe returned from deployment…. On Kaylee’s birthday, we enjoyed two of the many hobbies and interests we share! We started the day off with a beautiful motorcycle ride to breakfast and around Julian, CA. That night we went to our first baseball game, Padres vs. Mariners!

After 26 years of Naval service, Joe officially retired on April 1st, 2023! During the after party dinner, Joe surprised Kaylee…you see, Joe had their jeweler lie to Kaylee by telling her that her ring wouldn’t be ready until late April…setting up for the ultimate surprise! To say that she was absolutely shocked would be an understatement! Of course she said, “YES!”…Joe is that awesome!
