Alex and Kayla caught their first glimpses of each other via a dating app. This runs contrary to their respective styles, but nevertheless they are thankful for it. Wasting no time, they agreed to meet in the South End neighborhood of Charlotte one Sunday afternoon in early Spring of 2020. What could have been no more than a 30-minute meetup turned to an hour, to two hours, to what would end as a six hour session of getting to know one another's upbringings, interests, and dreams, with plans for a second date having been happily agreed to upon departure.

June 5, 2020 Alex asked Kayla to be his girlfriend. June 10, 2023 Alex asked Kayla to spend forever with him. June 8, 2024 Alex will marry Kayla. It felt fitting for our wedding date to be in-between the two other special dates in our lives up to this point.
