Savanah and Kayla met during a group project for their class Freshman year of college. They hung out a few times before heading home for the summer. They each had one more relationship to get through before they could start the beautiful one they have now. Second semester sophomore year at a party with some friends their relationship was rekindled. Over the next two and half years they played a lot of monopoly, tried lots of new beers, and cried over a lot of exams. After graduation in spring of 2020, or lack thereof, they moved to Minneapolis to finally live in their first apartment together. That apartment had a cute bay window and so many memories waiting to fill it: the mice filled, neighbors fighting, and covid ridden ones too. That year was filled with a lot of growth and patience. They learned the best ways to love each other and the best ways to stay sane. The following year they made their journey back to Wisconsin and moved into a great new apartment in Madison. Annual anniversary hikes, a mischievous dog named Devin, pool hangouts, and a new love of reading for the both of them became the new normal. There are still lots of places for them to grow into themselves, but with constant communication and a promise to be patient and loving, there is sure to be many more years to come.
