Barclay and I took a trip to the Amalfi coast in September 2018 and I had planned the entire trip like clockwork. Barclay kept bugging me for the itinerary and I was thinking he wasn't trusting me to plan the trip! I finally gave it to him two days before we left and he was relieved. I booked a dinner an ancient monastery which had been renovated into the gorgeous Monastero Santa Rosa Hotel & Spa. Situated on a clifftop overlooking the ocean, it was simply stunning. We finished our meal and we were ready for desert. Barclay said he would be back in a few minutes, I assumed to use the restroom. Suddenly, from behind me, a giant bouquet of roses appeared blocking my view of anything but the roses and I began to thank the waiter for the roses, thinking, Wow! What service! They give you roses here! Thanks! Once I put the roses on the table, I had realized Barclay was down on one knee the whole time and was blocked by the flowers! He asked me to marry him (and a lot of other romantic things) and I said yes. The entire restaurant stood up and cheered and toasted us. It was an amazing night!
