There are few things in life Katie feels more passionate about than White Dog. It's not a restaurant - it's a lifestyle. All jokes aside, this place is REALLY good. Nobody does brunch like White Dog. From the great atmosphere to the best eggs benedict and bellinis around (in Katie's opinion), you will not be disappointed.
Some pretty historic things happened at this park. Valley Forge was the site of the 1777-78 winter encampment of the Continental Army during the Revolutionary War. There are 3,500 acres of monuments, meadows, and trails to explore. It's also a beautiful spot to take in some fall foliage if history isn't your thing!
A more manageable option for our shopping fans, Suburban Square is an open air shopping mall with stores like Madewell, Sephora, Paper Source, and Kilwin's. There's also a variety of restaurants (we recommend Not Your Average Joe's) and a SoulCycle, which we will definitely judge you for attending.
Relive our glory days with a trip to Villanova's campus, where we met! The church is as beautiful from the outside as it is from the inside, and since there's usually multiple weddings per day on a Saturday, maybe just admire the beauty from the outside. Other campus highlights include: - the Oreo: a very out-of-place sculpture in the middle of campus that every Villanovan has taken a picture with - Bartley Hall: the business school (maybe this is only a highlight in Katie's mind) - the 4th floor of Mendel Hall: the hallway in the science building with the most research posters (DEFINITELY only a highlight in Ryan's mind)
If you'd like to go into Philly and want to take public transportation, there are many train stations in the general vicinity, all on SEPTA's Paoli/Thorndale line. The Strafford and Wayne stations are both close to the hotels on the Accommodations page. You can also drive in pretty easily - just beware that you will most likely be taking Route 76, which is notorious for getting backed up even on the weekends. Once you get to Philly, here are a few ideas for things to do: - The Liberty Bell & Independence Hall: The Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were both signed at Independence Hall - The Philadelphia Museum of Art: Run up the steps like Rocky, then visit some of the 200+ galleries housed in this Philly landmark - The Philadelphia Zoo: If the weather is nice, the zoo is worth a visit! - Reading Terminal Market: With over 80 stalls, Reading Terminal Market is a great place to grab a bite to eat
When it comes to casual breakfast spots, Katie is adamant that Nudy's is king, while Ryan prefers Minella's. We like to think of it as the Main Line equivalent to the Pat's vs. Geno's debate. So pick which one of us you trust more and go from there!
